Baby Girl On The Way!!

We found out today that we are having a baby girl. I was so nervous during the ultrasound that I was shaking really bad. She was being really shy and kept her legs crossed. I had to get up and go to the bathroom to get her to move. She finally let us know and I was still shaking, but then I started to cry. It took me a good 20 mins to finally calm down. We are all really excited and can't wait for her to come and join the family.

Happy Happy Birthday Doble Dear!

Our Little Doble is now ONE!
Doble's Birthday was a blast. We had a BBQ, pinata, gifts, and lots, and lots of fun.

THE PINATA

We made our own paper mache pinata. We were really worried that the thing was going to break on the first couple of wacks, but it actually held out for a long time. Doble had no idea what was going on, but we still had to pose him for pictures.

THE GIFTS

We could have bypassed this whole part and Doble would have never even cared. He did not want to sit there and try to open anything he just wanted to crawl around. Lil' E was more into the gifts than Doble was (You'll just have to wait your turn Lil' E).

THE CAKE
I like to make a cool cake for the kids' birthdays. For Lil' E's 1st Birthday a friend and I made a 3-D Alligator and Frog. This year for Doble's Birthday I made a 3-D Squirt from Finding Nemo and a Star Fish. It took me forever to finish it (good thing I made it the day before). Doble got to dig into the Star Fish while the rest of us ate the Turtle. He really didn't want to eat it and we had to really force it on him. I think he was still full from all the gummy worms and not feeling too good from being outside in the hot sun all day. But we did get some really good pictures.

Mommy's Masterpiece (8 hours of hard work)

Doble has been practicing his blowing skills for the past couple of weeks. A few days ago he got really good at it, but when it came time to blow out his candle on the cake he got a little nervous and we had to call in the old pro. No worries, Big Brother Lil' E came to his rescue and got the job done.

Hurry get a picture in before the mess begins.

He needed a little help starting.

Well he needed a little more help than we thought he would. He really didn't want to eat it. Who has to force their kid to eat cake and frosting?!

Okay maybe I can handle this stuff.

Or maybe not!

Let's try some icecream.

How many pictures and you going to take of me eating cake?

It's my cake stay away balloons.

Here Baby Brother, I brought you some balloons to go with your cake.

Yeah he is finally enjoying it.

Mmm...This stuff is starting to taste good.

Please tell me this is the last bite!
Doble tried to be so careful by using his fork, but mommy had to go and ruin it by smearing cake all over his face just for a picture.

THE BATH

After messy birthday cake you have to get a bath. We didn't want to fill the whole tub so we figured the sink would do.

After all that cake a large bottle of cold water sure does hit the spot.

He probably drank more water than he ate of Birthday cake.

Okay I am done with the cake, I am done with the bath, now get me out of here and put me to bed.

Festival Parade...aka the long, long, parade!

The parade came to town the morning of Doble's birthday. We grabbed the camping chairs and headed down. The boys both loved it. It was a beautiful day and it was a good thing I put lotion on Doble or he would have got fried. The rest of us however didn't get so lucky (well Lil' E did). The parade was extremely long (a whole 2 1/2 hours). We got to see Bailes and Matt in the band and the Lil' E enjoyed the candy being thrown.
Doble started off tired since he missed his first nap. But he is a people watcher and lasted the whole 2 1/2 hours.

My Cuz and I are the Bomb Diggity!

Lil' E got so dirty becuase he was playing on the road.

Doble loved the fact that he was sitting on his Aunt Tay Tay's lap and she was feeding him gummy worms the whole time.

This parade thing is pretty cool.

Carni Bums

Well the yearly Festival is in town and we took the kids to the carnival. We were going to do some rides, but it was so busy and Lil' E just wanted to watch the other people on the rides that we decided not to do it. We walked around, bought some yummy popcorn and cotton candy, and played some games. Lil' E got to try out the bowling ball game. He had fun eventhough he wasn't strong enough to get the ball all the way up to the hole. Doble just had fun watching everyone. He really wasn't fond of the cotton candy and D.J. had to force him to eat it. What kid doesn't like sugar?

Maybe next year Lil' E will want to try out the rides. We are going to try out the rides at Enchanted Village in June. We go every year and he really likes the kiddie rides, but the carnival doesn't have the cool little kiddie rides.

I know I'm Sexy!

Our little Doble is getting ready to turn one is already turning heads. The little girls just can't resist his big blue eyes and rosy cheeks. Sorry ladies, the only one who kisses those cheeks is his mommy.
I guess I should give credit to Aunti Bailes for taking the pictures eventhough I don't think it matters who takes the picture when the subject is so photogenic. Thanks Bailes.

Hammock Fun!

Today we put Aunti Bailes' hammock up. The boys loved it. Lil' E pretty much thinks he owns the thing and thinks it is his turn all the time. Doble gets excited when we walk past it and wants to be put right in it. This is a bit surprising because he gets a little nervous whenever we put him into his airplane swing. For some reason the hammock isn't scary and he loves it.

Lil' E loves to go really high. He really is having fun in this pic. He looks upset that Doble is in the hammock with him, but he is actually laughing.
Ahh...kisses for the little brother. They really do try to get along.

Leaning Tower of Legos...Look out Below!

Here is our version of the Leaning Tower of Piza.
Lil' E began building a tower on his own, then Mommy and Aunti Bailes had to join in. The goal was to get it to reach the ceiling. This task, which we thought would only take a few minutes, turned into a 20 minute family adventure. It didn't make it any easier with a little helper who thought the goal of the project was to knock it down. This was a little frustrating for Lil' E, but we had to keep reminding him that he wass the exact same way when he was Doble's age. Daddy came home and we were still trying to build it, so he joined in. Good thing he was there to help because we need all the hands we could get. The dang thing didn't want to stay upright. Within seconds of finishing the tower Aunti Bailes, Daddy and Lil' E had to run before the tower came CRASHING down. We had just enough time to get a picture of the completed structure, thanks to Mommy's expert picture taking. Looks like legos aren't just for the little kids.

I'm Da Bathtime Bomb

Lil' E has been really into sunglasses lately. This particular morning we had to go set up for a street fair and we left the kids with Mema. The people at the fair were giving bags out to all the sponsers and vendors. In the bags were these really cheapo sunglasses, but I figured Lil' E would have a blast with them. I came home and found
Lil' E in the tub and showed him the glasses. He put them on and had no problem "trying" to act all cool in the tub. His gangsta "yo" needs a little work.

Fun At The Park

The boys love it when we finally get out of the house and take them to the park. The Duck park is their favorite. They love the big playground, the nature path, and the duck pond. We tried to feed the ducks, but those silly seagulls kept stealing all the food.
Lil' E got to take his bike out for a ride. He normally rides it in the house, because Mema and Papa have a huge basement. But today was special and we packed it into the car. He loved going real fast. However there were a few small hills and he almost lost his balance a few times while going down them too fast. He also learned that riding on grass is really hard.

Doble is finally able to enjoy the playground. He doesn't like grass though. He is a little weary of the stuff and would rather not have anything to do with it. He is getting so big. Where did the time go. He loved trying the out the slide for the first time.
As always at the park, the swings proved once again to be the favorite item. Good thing both mommy and daddy were there to each push a child. We tried to teach Lil' E how to do it on his own, but he just couldn't get as high as he wanted.
