Phantom of the Opera

On friday I got to go and see The Phantom of the Opera with my mom. Phantom is the 4th show I have been able to see. JBody and my dad got the two of us tickets for our birthdays. We left friday afternoon hoping to get on the ferry and get over there to eat a nice dinner before the show. However, we missed our ferry. We ended up eating at Fox Grill. JBody would have loved it. It is a Sports Grill and there are LOUD tvs everywhere. The food though was really good. We made it to the show 20 minutes early and got in our seats. I was so excited. The show was amazing. The costumes, the actors, everything. I loved it. It made me once again wish that I could be on broadway if only for one time. After the amazing show we walked over to the Cheesecake Factory and got ourselves a piece of cheesecake. MMMMM! We ate it at our hotel while watching Mama Mia. Cheesy, but fun to watch with your mom. Why they chose the actors they did I don't know. I wasn't too keen on many of their voices and some looked a little too old to be playing their parts, but it was still fun to watch. The next morning we got up LATE (no kids to wake us up) and took our time getting dressed. We then walked to Old Navy and went shopping. Have I ever told you how much I hate shopping for myself? I ended up getting lots of good stuff for Christmas for the kids. We then ate at Red Robin. We each got to redeem our free meals. So we each got a smoothy and luch cost us under ten for the two of us. Then we RAN to catch the ferry and were home in time for our husbands to watch preisthood session of General Conference. It was a GREAT weekend and would love to do it all again.

In Highschool I went and saw Ragtime which I really liked because it had alot of Jazz music in it which I love. The show is about three groups of people during the early 20th century.

Another musical I saw in highschool was Big. Sadly all I remember about this one was thinking it wasn't as good as the first broadway show I had seen. In fact I remember thinking that I had enjoyed some highschool performances better. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either. It was based on the movie, which could have been what ruined it for me as well. I don't think the production did all that great. I think it only performed under 200 times.

And now to tell you about my all time favorite musical thus far. My family went and saw Beauty and the Beast when I was in 8th or 9th grade. There was something magical about the whole thing. It is so animated that I remember feeling like I was watching a live cartoon. The costumes were amazing, the music was beautiful, the dancing and acting was awesome. I want to see it again so badly. A friend of mine went and saw it with us...Do you remember it being as good as I do Danielle? The Lion King is coming near us next spring and I really want to go. However, this time I want JBody to go and experience it with me. I was okay with him not seeing Phantom because the music was operatic. I know he would have enjoyed it, but I think he will like Lion King if it is as good as Beauty and the Beast. I think it would be, I have only heard really good reviews on it. Have any of you seen it. Did you like it? If you comment on it please don't spoil anything in it that will take away from the experience. Just like some of you that have been to shows there is something magical about not know when or how things take place.

YES!! I remember the dinner scene being the most incredible thing I had ever seen in my whole life. It remains one of my favorite music memories of all time. Thank you for taking me!! Your family was always so generous and FUN! Love you!

Hey, you have to email me - i have no idea where you even live now! charlie7880@hotmail.com - anyway, I love your post of the musicals...I love them, too. We just got tickets yesterday to see Phantom in Vegas at the Venetian - I've heard you haven't seen it until you've seen it there. I've seen it before, but I'm so excited. As for the Lion King...totally saw that, too. Listen to me when I say, "IT WAS THE BEST MUSICAL I'VE EVER SEEN!" That may not be the case after the Phantom in Vegas, but right now, hands down, Lion King wins them all. It was the best. You have to see it...where is it coming? Again, I don't know where you are, but I'd go again. We sat on the 2nd row and that's the only way to go with that show because of the costumes...so amazing. I better stop, I could go on and on. Anyway, your kids are so cute and BIG! Razy is a doll. I can't wait to hear from you. And yes, I LOVE being pregnant! Bergen
