Welcome to Positively Peaches! I am Peaches. I am a SAHM of four fun, sweet, crazy, adorable children. Lil' E is eight, Doble is six and Razy is five, and Dimples is almost a year. I love to craft, decorate cakes, and spend time with my family. JBody (the good lookin' man in some of our pictures) is my wonderful husband.
This photo was taken at our family 4th of July BBQ. We were at JBody's Brothers and on the quads. I was scared to death of JBody's driving. I was so afraid we were going to tip or I was going to fall off. Yes it was fun, but scary. Thus the great title. Thanks for playing.
For todays tackle, I will be in the laundry room. You know that beautiful, organized room in which we all love. If only mine was like that. Here are some pictures of how I WISH my laundry room looked. They are not my DREAM laundry rooms, but are pretty close to it. Anything organized and clean is fine with me.
Loving all the storage space and even the color. It is so calming. Maybe then I could just relax as I do the laundry. The only thing the laundry room is missing is a sink and front LARGE front loader.
Don't you just love how there is a window that lights this laundry room up. My laundry room is in the basement so it is never so light as this. Also like the flooring and the must have sink.
Okay now onto reality. The following are not of rooms in my house, but at times (most times) very similar. According to the blog I found this picture was on it is 12 organized piles of laundry. Do any of you do this? I am guilty of doing this all the time. However, since we've moved into our place, I have been able to just THROW it down the basement stairs so no one has to see it. Thus the reason it piles up. It goes out of sight, then out of mind.
So like the look of my laundry room. Boxes, clothes, luggage, anything and everything all over the place. This is why I need to tackle it. I did notice they like Tide, just as I do. However, I like to use the liquid detergent. What kind do you like to use? Is your detergent scented, or unscented; powder or liquid?
My Goal isn't to organize everything, just to get laundry DONE. By done I mean washed, dried, folded, and PUT AWAY. The last thing is the hardest for me. It seems that laundry just stays in the hamper sometimes until it is time to wear it again. Do you do this too, or am I the only one?
Tackle= Get 6 loads of laundy DONE
Seems kind or like a weeny tackle, but hey I have 2 sick kids and my living room is a disaster because we pretty much moved the whole play room into it so we could paint.
Lil' E came home from church on Sunday with this beautiful display of Joseph Smith's first vision. He had made it in his CTR 5 class. I was unable to attend church on Sunday because Doble and Razy were both sick. I thought that it would be nice to talk about Joseph Smith and have Lil' E tell us some things that he learned in his primary class. This way he could help teach the lesson.
The display Lil' E made in CTR 5 on Sunday
He was so proud of it. I'd have to agree with him. I love it.
Lesson: The Prophet Joseph Smith
Purpose:To help family members gain a testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith.
Scripture: Lil' E
Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you, my servant Joseph Smith, I am well pleased with your
offering and acknowledgments, which you have made; for unto this end have I raised you
up, that I might show forth my wisdom through the weak things of the earth.
(D&C 124:1)
Story: Mommy
"My Tiny Book of Joseph Smith" by Marion Passey
Testimony: Daddy
Bear testimony of Joseph Smith.
Activity: Joseph loved to wrestle. Have family members participate in one or both of the following wrestling matches.
Indian Arm Wrestling 1. Have two people sit down and face each other across a small table. make sure the opponents are not too different in size. 2. Both then place their right elbows side-by-side on the table and grip each other's right hands. The left hands must be placed on the table and must not grasp anything. 3. When the players are in position, give the command to start. The wrestlers try to touch their opponent's hand against the table without lifting their elbows.
Indian Leg Wrestling 1. Have two people lie on their backs side-by-side with their heads in opposite directions. You may prefer to have a pad or rug underneath. 2. Count to three slowly. On the count of one and two, both people raise their inside legs straight up. The two heels should meet when both legs are straight. On the count of three, the wrestlers lock legs and try to flip the other person over. The person who flips over first is the loser. (George and Jeane Chipman, Games! Games! Games! , [Salt Lake City: Shadow Mountain, 1983], p. 83-4.)
1 cup cream
In a heavy saucepan combine all ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Continue cooking, stirring as little as possible. When mixture reaches hard ball stage (260° F.), remove from heat and pour onto a shallow, buttered 9x13-inch pan. Turn edges in with a spatula to prevent candy from hardening. When just cool enough to handle, divide in about 6 lengths and pull candy using buttered fingertips. Continue pulling until light and fluffy. Twist into ropes of desired thickness. With kitchen shears, cut into pieces of desired size. Wrap each piece with waxed paper. Makes 2 pounds. (Julie Badger Jensen, The Essential Mormon Cookbook, [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book, 2004] p. 133.)
This weeks Flasback Friday takes us back to December of 2000. This is one of our engagement pictures. We look so young here. We got engaged September of 2000. I had just graduated from HS that June and in February that same year JBody had returned from his mission. We met at a Young Single Adult Activity for church the end of June. By July we had begun dating and on September 26 we were engaged. Fast I know, but when you know why wait? 8 months later we were married in the Seattle Temple. I love this picture. I think it really shows us in that new love stage. Although I may not have that same look on my face I am more in love with JBody then I was then. The past 7+ years of marriage have been wonderful with a man by my side who I love and will love for eternity. Does this picture remind anyone else of a magazine? For some reason it does me.

Last weeks photo title winner is Alice I chose to hide her comment only because it shared a name in it. Trust me it made me laugh and remember the good old days. Remember no names please, but Alice I loved it too much not to claim you as the winner . Follow the link to see the picture and see the update as to what the picture was about. Do you want to win? Then come up with a title for this weeks Wordless Wednesday picture.
She knows Razy all to well. Yes these are her brother's pj pants. We were getting ready for bed and I was trying to go for the 70's disco look. She wasn't into it though.

Yes I know, I wrote everything down (minus the diaper changings and little things like that), but it makes me feel better to see a long list.
This week for Family Home Evening we went to my parents house. My mom usually has my nephews come over on Monday nights and has a FHE lesson with them. This week we joined them. She taught them the story the Brother of Jared and the tower of Babel.
A Book of Mormon prophet. He and his brother founded the Jaredite nation when they led a colony of people from the Tower of Babel to a promised land in the western hemisphere (Ether 1-6). He was a man of such great faith that he spoke with the Lord face to face (D&C 17: 1). His story is recorded in the book of Ether. The brother of Jared was a large and mighty man, and highly favored of the Lord, Ether 1: 34. Because of his faith, the brother of Jared saw the finger of the Lord, Ether 3: 6-9 (Ether 12: 20). Christ showed his spirit body to the brother of Jared, Ether 3: 13-20. There never were greater things made manifest than those which were made manifest to the brother of Jared, Ether 4: 4. The brother of Jared warned his people against a monarchy, Ether 6: 22-23. The Lord showed all things to the brother of Jared, Ether 12: 21. The brother of Jared was mighty in writing, Ether 12: 24. Through faith the brother of Jared moved mount Zerin, Ether 12: 30. (Information found at http://scriptures.lds.org/en/gs/j/9)
The boys then had fun building their own towers out of rice crispy treats and seeing the tower fall over. We then played the old gray mare. They love this game.
How to play: One person leaves the room while someone else hides an object. The person who left the room then returns and looks while everyone sings...(the old gray mare he ain't what he used to be, ain't what he used to be, ain't what he used to be. The old gray mare he ain't what he used to be many long years ago. Many long years ago. Many long years ago. The old gray mare he ain't what he used to be many long years ago.) As the person looking gets closer to the object the singing gets louder. As he moves away the music gets softer. The game ends when the object is found. Then start over.
Oh the good old days of college. Yes this picture was taken at a college dance. We look so young that you would think we were in High School. College seems so long ago. Actually it was quite awhile ago, about 7 years since this picture was taken and 8 and half since we started. I loved college, the friends, the classes, and the environment. JBody and I went to a church college. When we first enrolled it was Ricks college, but later it changed to Brigham Young University-Idaho. What a great place. There really is something special about BYU-I. It continues today to hold onto the "Spirit of Ricks". The student-teacher relationships, student-student relationships, and the spirit that it creates. The town since then has gotten alot bigger, but at the time it was just a small town with the school set up on the hill. Now there is a LDS temple and numerous church buildings, married housing, and much much more. There are times that I miss it, but am grateful for the opportunity to have been able to blessed to attend such a great school. It is where I was able to gain a stronger testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ and build a strong foundation on the way I wanted to live my life and teach my children.
My internet is so slow and is having trouble loading stuff right now. I have all intentions of putting a post up today. I even know exactly what I want to do for Flashback Friday, but with the internet being slow and the fact that I once again have to clean my house (I know I just did it on Tuesday), I have no time. Having 3 kids means chasing them around, and constant CLEAN-UP. But hey I can't complain, I love them and JBody. Who by the way got a sitter all by himself and is taking me out to dinner tonight. Thus the reason for cleaning up the house. She is a new sitter and I don't want to scare her off with a messy house. I hope to be back and post my Flashback Friday...Megs beware you and J-Rod are in this picture to be shared.
Update (21Jan09): This photo of Doble was taken at my parents house about a year ago. Papa's in the background, but the star of the photo is front and center and looking all pimp. This weeks photo title winner was Alice. She made me laugh with her title. However, I did have to hide it because it shared a name. Remember no names please, but Alice I loved it too much not to claim you as the winner .
Not only did I tackle the refrigerator, I conquered it. It actually didn't take me very long to finish it either. Lil' E came home from preschool and looked inside, turned to me, and asked "Did we eat all the food?" Nope mommy just threw it all away. Here is a list of everything else I was able to tackle today...
Showered and dressed myself and 3 kids all BEFORE preschool and got there on time.
Played legos with Doble and Razy
Cleaned and organized the refrigerator
Washed dishes and loaded the dishwasher
Picked Lil' E up from preschool
Stopped by a friend's home
Lunch (yes it was leftovers but hey we all sat at the table together)
Cleaned the dining room (Razy can do a doezy on the floor in there)
Cleaned the living room and vacuumed (well Lil' E did most of the vacuuming. He has really taken a liking to it.)
Read to the kids
Put Razy down for a nap
Did an art project with the boys (They turned out really cute. I will have to post a picture later.)
3 loads of laundry.
Autumn came over to play for little while she was joined by her big brother later in the day.
Surfed the web a bit tweeked the blog a bit.
Dinner (Sorry can't say I actually made it...pizza)
JBody came home and helped me come up with a shopping list.
Went grocery shopping (no kids) to Costco and Safeway.
JBody and I put a trunk load of food and household items away.
Do you ever feel that you are behind on anything and everything? This is a DEFINATE yes for me. Laundry, cleaning, reading, scrapbooking, shopping, lesson planning, blogging, ect. I am dedicating Tuesdays as my day to pledge to complete something that I have become behind on. This doesn't mean that all week I am going to neglect everything else on my list. It just means that I have to complete the task or tasks that I have pledged that day. Reporting back will force me to get things done, instead of saying, "I will just finish it tomarrow." Not only am I hoping to get things done that I have let pile up, but we all like to let others know how much we have accomplished and it feels good for others to support us. So if you would like to join me in my Tackle it Tuesday sign up on the Mr. Linky. We can all be there to praise and support as we tackle our much needed and sometimes unwanted tasks.
For my First Tackle... Tackle the Refrigerator I will spare you pictures of the inside of my refrigerator. Just trust me when I tell you it needs a cleaning. I am somewhat sad to clean it because whenever I do it REALLY looks like we have no food. I start throwing everything away. However, that is also a good thing right. As for the outside, it to needs a cleaning. The top especially. Do you use the top of your refrigerator as a collection area. Somehow everything finds it's way to the top of the fridge. Right now we have two bowls of leftover stocking candy, a birthday bag, an almost empty can of almond roca and some other odds and ends up there. Not to mention it probably has collected quite a bit of dust since the last time I cleaned it. As for the art work. Most of it will stay, some will go (in the trash) and some may be save worthy. Wish me luck! And good luck to those of you who have things to tackle yourself.
I am trying new ways to blog a little more often. One idea I had is to let you know what our family will be doing for Family Home Evening. For those of you who would like to know what Family Home Evening (FHE) is you can go here.
I think this was the 3rd or 4th take. Doble knows this song alot better, but he thought it was funny to see himself on the computer. He was also having fun laughing with his little sister who you can hear in the background.
Tonights lesson will be on Following the Commandments.
Doble loves the song "Nephi's Courage" so when I came across this lesson idea I was so excited.
The following is the Lesson found from Families in Zion. It is their "I Will Go and Do lesson".
I Will Go and DoPURPOSE
To help family members better understand the blessings that come from being obedient
MATERIALS
-Envelopes for treasure hunt
-Story, The King’s Emerald (below)
-Paper for clues
- A treat for the treasure hunt
SONG SUGGESTION
- “Nephi’s Courage” page 120 in Children’s Songbook
LESSON IDEAS
1. Pre-lesson preparation:
a. Prepare and hide the envelopes (see Treasure Hunt Preparation below)
b. Hide the treasure
2. Share the story, The King’s Emerald (below)
a. Ask your family, “Why was Rupert able to find the king’s emerald?” (He
was obedient)
3. Using Book of Mormon Stories (chapter 4) or the Book of Mormon Stories DVD
(or in your own words) tell the story of Nephi and his brothers going back to
Jerusalem to get the plates of brass.
a. Tell your family to listen closely because it will help them solve the
questions for the treasure hunt.
4. Treasure Hunt:
a. Tell your children that they are going to have a chance to find a special
treasure, but the only way is to be obedient like Nephi and follow the
instructions.
b. Explain that there are five envelopes that contain clues. If they answer the
question on the outside of each envelope they can open it and read what’s
inside. Inside each envelope are instructions to able to find the next
envelope. (Parents can adapt the questions and the clues according to the
situation and the age of the children.)
c. Give them Envelope #1.
5. Testify that if we are always obedient to what the Lord asks we shall be happy
and blessed.
STORY
The King’s Emerald
Rupert stood by the side of the road watching an unusual number of people hurry
past. At length he recognized a friend. 'Where are all of you going in such a hurry?' he
asked.
The friend paused, 'Haven't you heard?' he said.
'I've heard nothing,' Rupert answered.
'Well,' continued his friend, 'the King has lost his royal emerald! Yesterday he
attended a wedding of the nobility and wore the emerald on the slender golden chain
around his neck. In some way the emerald became loosened from the chain. Everyone is
searching, for the King has offered a reward of ten pieces of gold to the one who finds it.
Come, we must hurry.
'But I cannot go without asking grandmother,' faltered Rupert.
'Then I cannot wait. I want to find the emerald,' replied his friend.
Rupert hurried back to the cabin at the edge of the woods to seek his
grandmother's permission. 'If I could find it we could leave this hut with its dampness
and buy a piece of land up on the hillside,' he pleaded with grandmother.
But his grandmother shook her head. 'What would the sheep do,' she asked.
'Already they are restless in the pen, waiting to be taken to the pasture and please do not
forget to take them to water when the sun shines high in the heavens.'
Sorrowfully, Rupert took the sheep to the pasture and at noon he led them to the
brook in the woods. There he sat on a large stone by the stream. 'If I could only have had
a chance to look for the King's emerald,' he thought.
Turning his head to gaze down at the sandy bottom of the brook, suddenly he
stared into the water. What was it? It could not be! He leaped into the water, and his
gripping fingers held something that was green with a slender bit of gold chain. 'The
King's emerald!' he shouted. It must have been flung from the chain when the King was
crossing the bridge, on the highway, and the water washed it here. With shining eyes
Rupert ran to his grandmother's hut to tell her of his great find.
'Bless you, my boy,' she said, 'but you never would have found it if you had not
been doing your duty, herding the sheep.'
And Rupert knew that this was the truth (Ensign, Nov 1999, 49).
ACTIVITY IDEAS (Because our children are small and attentions are short we will be doing the hunt as our activity)- Have the children make a poster of Doctrine and Covenants 82:10, Exodus 19:5,
or 1 Nephi 3:7 to hang in their bedrooms
- Memorize Doctrine and Covenants 82:10 (a seminary scripture mastery scripture)

Our Gang with Jason and April's Gang
April and I are like sisters so I guess you could say
The week before Christmas the weather really started to get cold and we were surprised with a few different snow storms. They came right before school was supposed to get out so Winter Break began 2 days earlier than expected. The boys loved the snow. Razy on the other hand wanted to play outside when she saw her brothers get their boots on, but once she touched the cold white stuff she wanted nothing to do with it. However, she loved watching it fall from the warmth of the house.
Yes they did finish Frosty, and I do have a picture of him I just forgot to upload him to the computer. He didn't last long. We had a family friend come over and the boys decided that it was his time to go. Maybe next year Frosty.
We were graced with the snow one more time on Christmas Morning. JBody was so excited that he ran outside and started dancing in the snow. It came down really good for a good 30-45 minutes. This was the first White Christmas that either of us could remember. Yes there has been snow on the ground before, but just not snow falling from the sky. It was so beautiful and peaceful. JBody and I sat on our recliner together watching the snow fall as the boys played with their Santa gifts. Razy didn't wake up till 8:30 that morning. The boys had a hard time waiting for her. We made them wait till she woke up to open the rest of their gifts.
Yes I know that I am late getting these pictures up. Still I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!
Each year the kids react differently to seeing Santa. The first time they were all too little to understand or care for that matter. However, by the second and third time I am wondering if they will ever like the jolly old elf. The boys were fine with him. Lil E is always shy so he quietly told Santa what he wanted. Doble jumped right up on his lap. At one point he even cut in line. As for Razy she hated every minute of it. First of all she doesn't go to any men that she doesn't know, but when you add a face full of hair it freaks her out even more. The mean mommy that I was made her endure the pain three different times for photo ops.
The kids and Mema. Razy just focused on Mema.
Nope she wanted nothing to do with the old elf. To tell you the truth I think that this Santa's Helper didn't want to be here either.
Okay mom just let me go!!!
She had no idea that she was on his lap. Not until she turned around. I wish I had a picture to show her reaction. This was our favorite Santa this year, but alas it was the only picture I was able to get and you can barely she is face. This was taken the ward Christmas Party. He was the same Santa that came last year. So if you want to see his face you will have to scroll back through my posts.
Hey everyone, I wanted to tell you about a great new site I recently came across. Some of you may know that I love MomDot. They have great giveaways and it is fun to get to know the ladies on the site. Well recently I won a custom made tutu and leg warmers fromFairyWonderful. Shanna contacted me today to get the info on the tutu of my choosing. She was so nice and as I was talking to her I really wanted to give something back to her. So I want to spread the word of her great site. She has the cutest tutus, tutu dresses, and legwarmers. Now I know many of you have seen other sites with great tutus and you are asking what are special about these ones? Well I will tell you. She has some of the most unique tutu dresses I have seen. Her Disney inspired dresses are amazing. Something that is so nice about many of her designs are that when your little girl outgrows the dress you can just put it around her waist and either remove or tuck the neck strap and viola you have a tutu skirt. What a great way to continue the memories and the fun. I know I don't have many readers but I do have many friends with little girls so I am asking you to head on over to her site or blog and take a look around. I know you will love her stuff. Spread the word. She is even having a contest where you design the dress or tutu you would love to have. If you win she will send you the design for FREE! I really hope the best to Shanna and FairyWonderful. Thanks Shanna for the Tutu I can't wait to get it. I will be posting pictures of Razy in it the day I get it.
