My Family Monday *Follow the Prophet*
picture from desertnews.com
Opening Song: "Follow the Prophet" (Children's Songbook #110)
Opening Prayer:
Lesson: The lesson is on following the Prophet.
As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we are blessed to be led by living prophets—inspired men called to speak for the Lord, as did Moses, Isaiah, Peter, Paul, Nephi, Mormon, and other prophets of the scriptures. We sustain the President of the Church as prophet, seer, and revelator—the only person on the earth who receives revelation to guide the entire Church. We also sustain the counselors in the First Presidency and the members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as prophets, seers, and revelators.
Like the prophets of old, prophets today testify of Jesus Christ and teach His gospel. They make known God's will and true character. They speak boldly and clearly, denouncing sin and warning of its consequences. At times, they may be inspired to prophesy of future events for our benefit.
We can always trust the living prophets. Their teachings reflect the will of the Lord, who declared: "What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same" (D&C 1:38).
Our greatest safety lies in strictly following the word of the Lord given through His prophets, particularly the current President of the Church. The Lord warns that those who ignore the words of the living prophets will fall (see D&C 1:14–16). He promises great blessings to those who follow the President of the Church:
"Thou shalt give heed unto all his words and commandments which he shall give unto you as he receiveth them, walking in all holiness before me;
"For his word ye shall receive, as if from mine own mouth, in all patience and faith.
"For by doing these things the gates of hell shall not prevail against you; yea, and the Lord God will disperse the powers of darkness from before you, and cause the heavens to shake for your good, and his name's glory" (D&C 21:4–6).

Activity: President Monson Says. Played just like Simon says, but using President Monson's name instead and using things that he teaches us.
Closing Song: "Latter-day Prophets" (Children's Songbook #134)

A Wonderful Weekend
Before heading home we went to the temple. What better way to end a wonderful weekend than to go to the House of the Lord and spend some time with my eternal companion. It was bittersweet to head home, but this weekend was wonderful.

TACKLE it TUESDAY!!
JBody's sister gave us this dresser. Someone made it and gave it to her. It was unstained wood so we just slapped on some pink and green and viola a little girls dresser. Cute if I do say so myself.
The top of her dresser has a princess snowglobe I recieved for a graduation present, a little girl looking at a sleeping baby fairy with another fairy telling her to be quiet; gift from my mom, and a fairy on a tree branch; a gift given to Razy from my Aunt Mary. Can you tell what the theme of her room is yet?
I thought I would through in a picture of the cute TUTU I won from FairyWonderful. I love it. I need to get a picture of her in it. She like to wear it and spin circles with it on.
I know that I need to post some other pictures of the house, but this is a start. Hope you like. I know I love it. It is probably my favorite room in the house. It is so small, but perfect for a little girl.

My Family Monday
*Following the Footsteps of Jesus*
Opening Song: "I'm trying to be like Jesus" (Childrens Song Book #78)
Opening Prayer: Lil' E
Lesson: Mommy
Following the footsteps of Jesus:
Print out some footprints on paper. Stick them on the floor in a line. Next to each set of footprints lay a picture from the Gospel art Picture Kit. (You can find them here if you don't have them at home: Baby Jesus, Boyhood of Jesus, Baptism of Jesus, Jesus Healing, Jesus Praying, Jesus on the Cross, Jesus in Heaven ) You will make about 8 steps. In order, lay a picture of Jesus as a baby, As a child with Joseph, getting baptised, healing the sick, Praying,On the Cross, and Asending into heaven. Have each child walk on the footsteps. At each stage say " As Jesus was born, so were you", "Jesus was a child, as you are too" "Jesus was baptised and you will be too when you are 8", "Jesus helped the sick and you will too in your life", "Jesus Prays just like you", "Jesus died and one day you will too", "Jesus went to heaven to be with heavenly father and one day you will too". At the end of the footsteps I had a plate of treats to be their reward in heaven for making it through the footsteps of life.
Closing Song: “If The Savior Stood Beside Me" (Sally Deford)
Closing Prayer: Daddy
Treat: Sugar Cookies with footprints on them to be waiting at the end of the step walk

What Happened Wednesday!
I had to pull out the candy to get them to all look at me and be smiling.
I took a break after these pictures and went into the playroom/computer room to see if I could print one out that would work. We are redoing this room, so we have a gate up to keep the kids out. However, they all decided to follow me in. Lil' E and Doble jumped the gate. I finished up and walked out. The boys followed. Doble got stuck so Lil' E took the gate down for him. I didn't really think anything of it. We then went back to taking pictures.
Not great, but this is the one we chose.
Just as I finished printing this picture out, Razy started to cry. I turned around and saw my little girl in a mess of....
Not the first look, but I was in too much shock and yes upset to get pictures right off the bat. I scooped up a little over a half gallon back into the can. She just had to be in one of my favorite outfits. Dang it. I really tried to get it out. I even got my hopes up after hearing that hand sanitizer would get it out. But after hours of scrubbing I had no luck. Bummer. If you have suggestions please share. I just can't throw them away yet.
Well there wasn't a whole lot to get upset over. A huge huge mess, but we were planning on ripping the ugly blue carpet out and put in wood laminate in. I wanted to pull the carpet up to make sure it wasn't soaking through the pad and warping the floor underneath. We always knew that there was a chance that we could have good hardwood underneath. When I pulled the carpet up this is what I found....
You can even see a sneak peak of the new colors we have chosen for the room
JBody is thinking that we may be able to have a flooring specialist come in and restore the floor for a better price than laying new floor on top.
I will admit I was stressed about the whole thing. Razy was crying and covered in paint, the boys wanted to eat, and I needed to be cleaning my house and preparing my talk for church. I didn't really want to be cleaning paint up, and a lot of it.
I finally headed to bed at about midnight after trying to salvage Razy's clothes. I went in to make sure Razy was covered and smelled death. She had thrown up all over the place and fallen back to sleep. I woke JBody up to help me change her bed and give her a bath. We put her back to bed and JBody went back to sleep. I stayed up trying to clean up her bedding. I had to take apart her blanket to get the yuckiness out of it. It is one of those tied blankets, so I had to undo each tie to be completely cleaned. I headed up to bed an hour later.
I went in to check on Razy again. She was wide awake and standing up so I picked her up.
BLAH!!! Here mommy present for you.
Now the two of us get in the shower. I chose not to wake JBody up again. No point on the two of us being awake.
We finished with the shower and I turned on a movie. There was no way I could fall asleep. Well Razy is not one to fall asleep in your lap, but she didn't want to be in her bed. She wanted to be held, and asleep, just not the two together. At about 3:30 I laid down with her on the Love Sac. She finally fell asleep....
ONLY FOR 20 MINS
I had to sleep and so did she. I laid her in her bed and after about 2 mins of crying she and I were asleep. 4 hours later we were up and ready for a new day.
Since then I have made a sign for a friend, gone to bed past midnight again, prepared a talk and dealt with a little one who instead of throwing up has decided that every time she eats she needs a diaper change. I really should go to bed...I'm pooped.
