Sock Curls

Many of you know that I love to do Razy's hair. And boy have I been lucky with being able to do her hair. She has a full head of it and she LETS me do it. I think there are alot of mommies out there that have little girls who kick and scream and won't let them touch their hair. Well that is not the case with me. My wonderful two year old lets me do her hair and at times if need be will even sit for 15 minutes to let me do it. She has even been known to bring me bows and ask me to do her hair for her. I couldn't be happier!!

On sunday I tried a technique that I have forgotten about. I remember my mom doing sock curls on my sister and I, but had forgotten until a friend reminded me of it. Razy got a kick out of wearing socks in her hair and I was extremely pleased with the results.

Step 1: Divide hair into strands. (I only divided Razy's hair into 4 strands)

Step 2: Roll a sock up the divided strand of hair and then tie off. (I used Razy's own socks...Clean Ones)

Step 3: Leave socks in hair for desired amount of time. I remember sleeping with the socks in my hair. However, for Razy's hair I left it in for an hour.

Step 4: Remove socks.


Step 5: Gently pull curls apart. And vioala! Beautiful curls.

Razy usually has pretty straight hair. But the curls held the whole day and she even still had them the next. Definately a technique I will use in the future.

Is It So Wrong?

WOW HAVE THEY GROWN UP!

Where have the last 5 and a half years gone. I can't believe that this little boy standing here has grown up. My oldest is going to start Kindergarten this year. He is thriving in preschool and surprises me everyday with what he learns and REMEMBERS.

This is the face of one of the sweetest little boys. Yes he does know how to whine, but geez just look at that face. Can you stay mad at him? I don't think so. He is loving preschool and is such a social bug there. Still a HUGE fan of Thomas, I am thinking we will have our 4th Thomas cake to make this year for his birthday.

Our litte princess is growing up so fast. I can't believe that this year she will be three. She starts preschool this year. She has become so independent. But oh is she growing up to be one beautiful little girl.

So I have a question for all you moms out there...

Is it so wrong for a mother to secretly think she has the cutest kids there ever were?

Do you ever look at your kids and think to yourself how dang cute they are? I will openly admit this. I as a mother of these three children that I have posted think that I have way cute kids. However, I will also be the first to admit that, yes they have their moments when they are not so cute. I am fine with the fact that other people may not think that my kids are cute, because I believe that EVERY mother whether she admits it openly or not thinks that she has the cutest kids on the earth. And we have a right to think this. We are their mothers. We spend day in and day out with them. We hear the cute things they say. We feel their soft chubby fingers, silky hair, and those oh so kissable ears and think to our selves...

MY KIDS ARE THE CUTEST THINGS THERE EVER WERE!

So to all you moms out there think it, and think it proud. And I will do the same.

Tackle It Tuesday: Merry Christmas Cards!

Todays tackle is to get my Christmas cards ordered so I can get them in the mail.

So I am sitting here getting ready to put an order into costco for our Christmas cards and thought I would post one here for all those who may read our blog. I hope that this Christmas season you have time to reflect on what is really important to you. I know that the four people whom I share this photo with are the most important in my life. I love Christmas and I love sharing it with my husband and children. Christmas is so different when you are grown up and hve children of your own. It is so much better than I remember as a kid. I love teaching my children about the true meaning of Christmas and seeing them get excited about everything that Christmas brings. I love the colors, the warmth of our home, the smells, and the goodies. I love that it brings our family closer and we have more opportunities to see and share this time with our extended families and friends. I love the lights of the Christmas tree and the memories of each ornament that is placed upon the tree. I love the music and sounds that Christmas brings. I love seeing my children get excited about what Santa will bring them and the look on their faces when they first come downstairs to see their gifts. But most of all I love the Spirit of Christmas. I love what it means and brings. I love my Saviour whom we celebrate at this time. His birth, His mission. I am thankful for him and his redeeming love. I am thankful to know that my family can be together for ever and I know that it is only through Christ that that is possible. I know that my Saviour died for my sins and that he loves me and wants me to return to him. I will strive this Christmas season to make for TIME for Him, to think of Him, to teach my children more of Him. Because of Him we have this wonderful time of year to celebrate. May you love and enjoy this time of year as much as I do.

The Christmas Tree is a symbol of Christmas because :
The evergreen tree means lasting light and life. The needles of the tree point upwards towards heaven. As many things die in winter but the evergreen does not, it symbolizes life in the midst of death or rebirth.

Talk about why you like to put a star or angel on the top of your tree.

Here is our Christmas Tree all decorated. I love having a tree in our house and I love the lights on it. I wish that I could get a picture of it with the lights on, but it I can't get one to turn out.

Tackle It Tuesday

Christmas Advent Calendar

For today's tackle I needed to get my advent calendar done. I cut it close being that today is the first day of December. But it is done and very cute if I do say so. It is made from a cookie sheet that has been spray painted and emblished with stickers, cutouts, paper, buttons, ect. I didn't get the title done (Countdown to Christmas). I lost my i, but I wanted to get the calendar up so the kids could enjoy it.

Each day the kids will help me add one of the magnetic embelishments.

I really didn't want to glue all of these numbers on the calendar so I used my cricut to cutout vinyl numbers. So much easier and I think that it will keep the numbers form falling off over the years of use.
