Carni Bums

Well the yearly Festival is in town and we took the kids to the carnival. We were going to do some rides, but it was so busy and Lil' E just wanted to watch the other people on the rides that we decided not to do it. We walked around, bought some yummy popcorn and cotton candy, and played some games. Lil' E got to try out the bowling ball game. He had fun eventhough he wasn't strong enough to get the ball all the way up to the hole. Doble just had fun watching everyone. He really wasn't fond of the cotton candy and D.J. had to force him to eat it. What kid doesn't like sugar?

Maybe next year Lil' E will want to try out the rides. We are going to try out the rides at Enchanted Village in June. We go every year and he really likes the kiddie rides, but the carnival doesn't have the cool little kiddie rides.

I know I'm Sexy!

Our little Doble is getting ready to turn one is already turning heads. The little girls just can't resist his big blue eyes and rosy cheeks. Sorry ladies, the only one who kisses those cheeks is his mommy.
I guess I should give credit to Aunti Bailes for taking the pictures eventhough I don't think it matters who takes the picture when the subject is so photogenic. Thanks Bailes.

Hammock Fun!

Today we put Aunti Bailes' hammock up. The boys loved it. Lil' E pretty much thinks he owns the thing and thinks it is his turn all the time. Doble gets excited when we walk past it and wants to be put right in it. This is a bit surprising because he gets a little nervous whenever we put him into his airplane swing. For some reason the hammock isn't scary and he loves it.

Lil' E loves to go really high. He really is having fun in this pic. He looks upset that Doble is in the hammock with him, but he is actually laughing.
Ahh...kisses for the little brother. They really do try to get along.

Leaning Tower of Legos...Look out Below!

Here is our version of the Leaning Tower of Piza.
Lil' E began building a tower on his own, then Mommy and Aunti Bailes had to join in. The goal was to get it to reach the ceiling. This task, which we thought would only take a few minutes, turned into a 20 minute family adventure. It didn't make it any easier with a little helper who thought the goal of the project was to knock it down. This was a little frustrating for Lil' E, but we had to keep reminding him that he wass the exact same way when he was Doble's age. Daddy came home and we were still trying to build it, so he joined in. Good thing he was there to help because we need all the hands we could get. The dang thing didn't want to stay upright. Within seconds of finishing the tower Aunti Bailes, Daddy and Lil' E had to run before the tower came CRASHING down. We had just enough time to get a picture of the completed structure, thanks to Mommy's expert picture taking. Looks like legos aren't just for the little kids.

I'm Da Bathtime Bomb

Lil' E has been really into sunglasses lately. This particular morning we had to go set up for a street fair and we left the kids with Mema. The people at the fair were giving bags out to all the sponsers and vendors. In the bags were these really cheapo sunglasses, but I figured Lil' E would have a blast with them. I came home and found
Lil' E in the tub and showed him the glasses. He put them on and had no problem "trying" to act all cool in the tub. His gangsta "yo" needs a little work.

Fun At The Park

The boys love it when we finally get out of the house and take them to the park. The Duck park is their favorite. They love the big playground, the nature path, and the duck pond. We tried to feed the ducks, but those silly seagulls kept stealing all the food.
Lil' E got to take his bike out for a ride. He normally rides it in the house, because Mema and Papa have a huge basement. But today was special and we packed it into the car. He loved going real fast. However there were a few small hills and he almost lost his balance a few times while going down them too fast. He also learned that riding on grass is really hard.

Doble is finally able to enjoy the playground. He doesn't like grass though. He is a little weary of the stuff and would rather not have anything to do with it. He is getting so big. Where did the time go. He loved trying the out the slide for the first time.
As always at the park, the swings proved once again to be the favorite item. Good thing both mommy and daddy were there to each push a child. We tried to teach Lil' E how to do it on his own, but he just couldn't get as high as he wanted.
